BASH aims to create a friendly and respectful space where children feel safe, included and able to enjoy themselves.
We encourage a culture of kindness, responsibility and mutual respect.
Our expectations
Children are asked to:
• Be kind and respectful to others.
• Look after equipment and the hall space.
• Follow instructions from volunteers.
• Include others and play fairly.
• Speak to a volunteer if they feel upset or worried.
How we support positive behaviour
• Volunteers model respectful and encouraging behaviour.
• Clear expectations are explained at the start of sessions.
• Children are supported to resolve disagreements calmly.
If behaviour becomes challenging
• Volunteers will speak calmly with the child and explain expectations.
• Children may be asked to take a short break from an activity.
• Parents may be informed if behaviour continues to cause concern.
In rare cases where behaviour seriously affects the safety or wellbeing of others, BASH may ask parents to collect their child early or discuss future attendance.
