We long to be a people who are fed by God’s word in scripture and open to the transforming working of the Holy Spirit: people who are distinctively different through our faith but who connect well, sharing the love that God has shared with us on to our communities, as a transforming Christian presence.
We have a vision to connect with those in need and to connect them with the help that they need: one churchwarden had a picture of an old-fashioned telephone switchboard. Our vision is also to connect more with our communities and to encourage positive connections within them. The village survey in Beckington, for example, highlighted the feeling of a loss of connection in the community with the building of many new homes and with fewer people apparently willing to volunteer for and lead community organisations. Encouragingly, they also saw the church as both a very important presence and one that could have a very positive influence in connecting the community. We recognise the limitations of our own resources for this but believe that with God’s help we can bring hope to individuals and enrich community life.
Well Connected Launches
Empowering Communities with Access to Vital Resources for Health, Well-being, Love, Care, and Attention
In an exciting development for community support and well-being, we will begin equipping people as Well Connected Connectors to provide crucial assistance and guidance to those seeking help in the domains of health, well-being, love, care, and attention. This signifies a transformative step towards enhancing the lives of individuals within our community.
Bridging the Gap for a Stronger Community

Well Connected aims to bridge the gap between those in need and the resources available to them. This innovative initiative, working hand in hand with Health Connections, Mendip, will grow in scope and scale, fostering stronger, more compassionate communities where help is readily accessible.
Empowering Through Compassion
The Well Connected Program operates on the premise that everyone deserves access to essential resources and emotional support. Connectors are trained to signpost sources of help, including mental health, physical health, relationship advice, and even just lending an empathetic ear to those in search of companionship.
Transforming Lives One Connection at a Time
As we set out, it’s essential to recognize the dedication and training that needs to go into making this program a success. Local charities, businesses, and willing helpers will hopefully join hands to provide resources and support to ensure the ongoing growth and success of the Well Connected Program.
As we begin, let us remind ourselves that the challenge is immense. With each new Connector trained, we move one step closer to a future where no one feels alone or without help in times of need. Together, we can build a stronger, more compassionate community.
