Network Editorial Policy

1. Purpose

Network aims to encourage connection, care and community across the benefice. We seek to tell local stories, celebrate people, foster understanding and strengthen relationships.

2. Editorial Principles

Articles should be:

  • Personal
  • Local
  • Action-inspiring
  • Caring
  • Engaging

We welcome a wide range of views and contributors. Authors are responsible for their own opinions, which do not necessarily represent those of Network or the benefice.

3. Fairness and Community

We encourage respectful discussion and debate.

Where opinion pieces directly affect or criticise identifiable individuals, organisations or groups, we will seek to offer a reasonable right of reply, ideally within the same issue.

Our aim is to build bridges, strengthen relationships and encourage understanding rather than create division or promote special interests.

4. Editorial Process

Section editors help develop content and encourage contributors.

All content will be reviewed for accuracy, clarity and tone before publication.

The editor retains final responsibility and authority for publication decisions and may consult others as appropriate.

5. Legal and Ethical Standards

  • Contributors must respect copyright.
  • Permission should be obtained for photographs where appropriate.
  • Children should not be identified by surname without good reason and appropriate consent.
  • Articles should be truthful, respectful and lawful.
