BASH is committed to maintaining a safe environment for children, volunteers and visitors.
General safety
• Sessions take place in Beckington Memorial Hall or other agreed community venues.
• Volunteers check the space and equipment before each session.
• Children are supervised at all times.
• Attendance is recorded at the beginning of each session.
Medical information
Parents are asked to inform BASH of:
• Allergies
• Medical conditions
• Additional needs or support requirements
• Emergency contact details
Medication
If a child requires medication during a session:
• Parents must inform the team in advance.
• Medication must be clearly labelled.
• Volunteers will only administer medication when agreed in advance with parents.
Food and drink
• Drinks and light refreshments such as hot chocolate may be provided.
• Allergies are checked before food is offered.
Accidents
• First aid kits are available at every session.
• Trained first aiders are present.
• Accidents are recorded in an incident log and parents are informed where appropriate.
